Wren Raming is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Hydrologic Innovations at the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, Arizona State University where he work with Dr. Enrique Vivoni to model the effects of forest thinning on runoff in the Salt and Verde river basins, Arizona.

Wren obtained his PhD in Geology at the School of Earth and Space Exploration, at Arizona State University in December, 2022. Wren’s PhD research focuses on thresholds in landscape evolution, including physical limits to rainfall-runoff flooding. He used field and remote sensed data to test theories of landscape evolution on the Hawaiian islands. PhD Advisor: Dr. Kelin Whipple

Wren’s undergraduate work focused on using remote sensing to analyze playa environments across the world. And included work on understanding the natural and anthropogenic controls on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Undergraduate advisor: Dr. Brenda Bowen

In his past life Wren guided river trips down the Grand Canyon.
